Hello everyone!
My name is Vladislava Synenko. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a master’s-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner. I graduated from Liberty University’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and am certified by the ANCC. I also graduated from Old Dominion University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2014.
Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, I came to the United States in 1997 and have lived in Hampton Roads, Virginia, since then. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to live, work, and serve here. My callings include medicine, mental health, music, art, and animal care.
I became a nurse in 2002 and worked mostly in long-term care settings, including nursing homes and home health. After becoming a nurse practitioner, I began working in an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, many of whom also had psychiatric diagnoses. Since 2015, I have provided primary care in psychiatric and developmental disability settings, treating acute and chronic medical conditions while working closely with physicians and psychiatrists. This experience inspired me to continue my education and become a PMHNP.
I also have a background in music and a special interest in music production. While studying music in Kyiv in the 1990s, I was active in the local music and arts scene and knew many creative people who struggled with substance use and mental illness. Many did not survive addiction. Those experiences stayed with me and became part of my motivation to help people with mental health and substance use disorders.
Astral Health PLLC focuses on psychiatric medication management, behavioral health care, substance use disorder treatment, MAT/medications for addiction treatment, and limited primary care services for established patients when clinically appropriate. My background as a Family Nurse Practitioner allows me to consider both mental and physical health needs when developing a treatment plan.
Astral Health works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related symptoms, sleep problems, substance use concerns, chronic relapse, dual diagnosis, relationship stress, personality-related difficulties, and coping challenges. I also have a special interest in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, chronic illness, older adults, LGBTQ+ patients, and people navigating complex family or relationship dynamics.
Astral Health is also interested in the thoughtful use of technology, creativity, and artificial intelligence as supportive tools in modern mental health care. AI-based services are not currently offered as a formal treatment program, but I am especially interested in how digital tools, music, creative expression, and structured support can help people better understand their emotions, routines, relationships, and recovery process.
My goal is to provide thoughtful, respectful, and practical care that supports both mental health and overall well-being. Please call, email, or request an appointment online. Insurance participation varies by plan and service type, so coverage should be verified before scheduling.
